Device Management Questions
Tap a question to open it. Related: Managed IT, on-site support and Internet and NBN.
What is device management in simple terms?
Also called MDM: a central control panel for devices an organisation owns or looks after, so apps, Wi-Fi, security settings and restrictions stay consistent.
How much does it start from?
From $39 per month. The final price depends on device count, ownership, controls and how much setup help you want.
Is it just tracking or spying?
No. It is mainly setup, security, app control and protecting data. Location, lock and wipe are only enabled where ownership, authority and consent are clear.
Can apps, websites and settings be controlled?
Yes, depending on the device and enrolment method: install or remove apps, block websites, apply password rules, set up Wi-Fi and stop key settings changing.
What else can it do?
Password resets, geofence alerts and location tracking where approved, remote app install and removal, auto Wi-Fi setup, remote factory reset and parental controls.
What happens if a device is lost or reassigned?
For eligible enrolled devices we can locate, lock, wipe or reset it. Available actions depend on the device, ownership and agreed controls.
Can it help with school tablets or field staff?
Yes. Schools can keep learning apps and block distractions. Delivery and field teams keep maps, job apps and messaging ready, with company data protected if a phone goes missing.
Does it help small teams and clinics?
Yes: new-user setup, a device register and a lost-device response, so staff start with the right apps, Wi-Fi and access.
Can it help families, carers and NDIS participants?
Yes. Keep essential communication, banking, health or learning apps easy to find, restrict unsafe apps, and follow a clear process for approved changes.
Does it replace managed IT?
No. It is the device-control layer. Managed IT is broader support across users, email, security and systems, and some businesses use both.
