Paid The Old Business And Still Waiting?
Read This.

If you paid My IT Shop for something before 22 October 2026 and never got it, we're really sorry. Here's what happened, what we're doing about it, and how to get your money back.

What Happened

Until October, the shop was run by a company called MITS Noosa Pty Ltd. Its director is Brendan Melling.

In October that company closed the shop and stopped trading. Repairs and orders were left unfinished, and the money customers had paid stayed with that company.

On 22 October the shop reopened under a new company with new owners. Its directors are Todd Boniface and Earl Mariano. None of the money paid to the old company came to the new one, so we can't give refunds for it. We wish we could.

What We Can Do For You

  • Your device. If you left a device at the shop, call us. We're holding some customer devices safely. If we have yours, you can collect it free. Just bring photo ID and anything that shows it's yours.
  • A repair you paid for but didn't get. We'll do it for you once at our cost. You pay only what the parts cost us, and there's no labour charge. Bring your receipt or job number. This offer runs until 31 January 2027.
  • A repair that's stopped working. Bring it in anyway. We've worked with our suppliers so we can sort out most warranty problems, though we can't promise every one. We'll always look at it for free and tell you straight.

How To Get Your Money Back

The money is owed by MITS Noosa Pty Ltd. Here's what to do, quickest first:

1. Paid by card? Ring your bank today. Tell them you paid for something you never got and ask for a "chargeback". Most banks only allow this within about 120 days of paying, so please don't wait. For most people this is the fastest way.

2. Ask Fair Trading for help. Call 13 QGOV (13 74 68) or go to qld.gov.au/fairtrading. It's free, and they will contact the company for you. (We can't give out personal addresses on this page, which is another reason Fair Trading is the easier route.)

3. Still not sorted? You can make a claim at QCAT for amounts up to $25,000: qcat.qld.gov.au.

4. If the company goes into liquidation, you can claim from the liquidator. We'll put their details on this page as soon as we know them. Keep your receipts, texts and emails.

Not Sure Where To Start?

Come in or call us. We'll help you find your receipt or job number and point you to the right place.
